Deep purple in color this cabernet franc has a nose of damp forest floor, dry hay, violet, dried rose petal and restrained black and red fruit including raspberry and some vanilla baking spice.
On the attack the cabernet franc expresses round, tart, sour, medium-plus acidity and a slightly under-ripe red fruit character with medium tannin on the finish.
A higher-acid, cabernet franc that captures the Loire cab-franc style. The wine develops some mid-palate complexity with exposure to air.
