Under a gibbous moon with purple shades, Geppetto returns home with his arms laden with vines. He greets with a wink his Figaro cat before sitting in front of the fireplace hearth. Pensive, he feeds his fire mechanically, exhausted by this day without flavor. Suddenly, a branch with humanoid forms reminds him of a puppet he had loved so much.
