2015 Cartoixa Red Blend 750 Ml

Scala Dei Cartoixa is not only the most emblematic wine of the Scala Dei wineries; it is also a milestone in the wine history of Priorat, as it was the first wine bottled under the D.O.C. Priorat. Scala Dei Cartoixa is made with a selection of the best autochthonous grapes of the area: Grenache and Cariñena.

A dense cherry red with violet hues. Intense lingering aromas of ripe black fruits and plums with a floral hint of violet, combine with prominent mineral notes from the licorella slate terroir to give the wine its distinct Priorat typicity. It also has spicy notes which come from its aging in oak. On the palate it is robust, buttery, and supple with intense mature tannins. A fully rounded body ends with a long lingering finish.
