Description: Matadiablo is a bold and vibrant rum crafted primarily from pot distillation, designed for enthusiasts of high-intensity flavors reminiscent of Caroni and Hampden Estate. Distilled by Rommel, Axel, and William Krassel in Santa Maria Tlalixtac, Oaxaca, this rum features Java cane and boasts an ABV of 63.4%. It undergoes fermentation in stainless steel and pine tanks using ambient yeast.
The blend comprises 32% pot still rum aged for 6 months in an ex-Mezcal cask, 27% pot still rum aged for 19 months in first-use French oak, 23% pot still rum aged for 17 months in first-use French oak and then rested for 3 months in open glass demijohns, and 18% Krassel still rum aged for 21 months in an ex-Bourbon cask.
With a nose of green apple, black pepper, raisins, and coconut, Matadiablo delivers a palate bursting with cardamom, apple pie, and lemon peel, making it a distinctive choice for adventurous rum lovers.
