It serves up deliciously aromas and flavors of ripe red and purple berries, all with juicy mid-summer ripeness and just a touch of enlivening tang. It feels rich, almost creamy, in your mouth but very fresh, with accents of star anise and cinnamon weaving in and around the crushed cherry/berry fruit.
A touch of cracked rock minerality and firm, fine, tannins give support to the fruit and spice-marked finish that sails on nicely. A lovely match for roast chicken or even richer foods like pork carnitas or salmon.
