Medium yellow color; peach, white fruits, whiff of oak and resin–lavender on the nose; peach, citrus, lime, fennel, spice on the palate.
A wonderful esoteric, slightly resinous, full bodied, dry white Collioure wine. It is deliberately made in quite an oxidative style, with a sherry-like bouquet and a complex palate of orchard fruit offset by wild herb notes and a long, elegant finish.
The Collioure blanc from Domaine La Tour Vieille, called ‘Les Canadells’, is made from an unusual blend of 30% Rolle, 20% each of Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Macabeau along with 10% Roussanne.
