The 2017 Pommard Les Chanlins 1er Cru, which has 5% whole clusters and was matured in 50% new oak, has quite an intense bouquet, offering more black than red fruit and just a touch of tobacco in the background.
The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, spicier than the Argillières, and the finish is slightly chalky. This will need a little more time than Parent’s other 2017s.
