A more deeply pitched nose offers up notes of dark pinot fruit along with plenty of earth and sauvage characters. Here too the middle weight flavors possess both good richness and volume, all wrapped in a lightly mineral-inflected, saline and balanced finish that is a bit less rustic than usual. This too is well worth considering.
87 Aroma had dark cherries, black currants, light tobacco and leather. Over the palate came black currants, dark cherries, subtle oak and tobacco.
