From the Wien appeliaton in Austria (Vienna), this biodynamically farmed, 100% Zweigelt is a gem. Zweigelt was created in 1922 by crossing the Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent grapes. It is a light hearted wine, but this one shows particular charm. Hand-harvested, fermented 3 weeks then aged 18 months in new and used barrel. The rich, concentrated wine is due to the older vines, aging 35-50 years. No fining, no filtration. Dark stone fruits with hints of caramel and orange zest. Vienna Nussberg, Austria
