Hinch Peated Single Malt is a heavily peated, tripled distilled, whiskey providing a smooth sweet malt taste and with complex peat flavors, making it a truly unique Irish whiskey. It represents the distillery’s mission to combine past ‘malting’ traditions fused with contemporary mashing and distilling techniques. The final results are a whiskey which delivers pronounced, striking, peat and smoky flavors to the palate. Bottled at 43% to maximize intensity. In Ireland peat is commonly presented throughout the island and historically was used as a fuel for heating, cooking, and likely in the kilning process for malting barley. Hinch Distillery are delighted to be re-establishing the tradition of peated barley as part of the whiskey distilling process.
Appearance: Light golden Taste: Immediate strong peat flavors with lingering and nuanced fruit undertones which survive the peat storm. A hint of liquorice comes through on the palate as the peat gently mellows awaiting your next sip.
