The 2016 vintage for Burgundy is sure to go by faster than we can blink! Following on the heels of the deliciously ripe and large-scale 2015s, the ’16s are more classic in style, appealing to long time Burgundy fans, but are likely to be scarce too, especially for in demand monopoles like the Clos des Ursules 1er cru. Fortunately we have managed to secure this newly released flagship Beaune from Louis Jadot, and among a lineup of pretty world class Burgundies, Jadot’s ‘Clos des Ursules’ is a true gem in their impressively varied portfolio.

The 2016 vintage of the Clos des Ursules is one for the ages (and the cellar). Declared a “truly outstanding vintage of Clos des Ursules in the making” by View from the Cellar (94pts), Clos des Ursules, under the Domaine Heriters Jadot label, is a unique site, an ancient ‘clos’ located within the Vignes Franches 1er cru.
