The Macallan Coronation is a limited edition release commemorating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. This exclusive set features two 35cl bottles (114.4 and 116.2 proof), each matured in different types of sherry oak casks. The first whisky, matured in American oak sherry casks, presents a lighter, golden hue, embodying vibrant and lively flavors. The second, aged in Spanish oak sherry casks, showcases a deeper mahogany color with rich and complex notes. Each bottle is adorned with a unique portrait of the Queen: the American oak expression features Cecil Beaton’s famed coronation photograph. In contrast, the Spanish oak variant displays a 2004 image by Julian Calder. This collector’s item was limited to 1,953 sets, symbolizing the coronation year.
