Intense dark fruit aroma of black currant, followed by wet earth, mushroom, and caramelized sugar. Hints of dried herb and the classic California bay that is a signature of Mt. Veeder round out the nose. Earthy flavors that evoke the mountain, along with dark chocolate, black olive, and sweet bay leaf. The palate is long and rich with classic cassis flavors that linger.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in color with aromas of dark, ripe fruit, plum, cassis, and fig with complex hints of porcini and smoked meats. Over time, dark chocolate, bergamot, with underlying hints of bay, dried herb, and peppercorn emerge on the nose. Rich, full-bodied with generous Cabernet structure, yet a very supple mouthfeel. Brambly with berry, peppercorn, and olive that fill the palate and lead to a long, lingering finish of dark fruit and notes of crème brûlée. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec
