This super-high-rye whiskey—perhaps better than 90% of the mashbill!—is a solid, distinctive, and decidedly budget-friendly entry in an increasingly crowded—and pricey—field.
Appearance: Dark straw; oily consistency; long legs.
Nose: Strong notes of fermented white grape, almost to the point of a fino sherry!
Flavor: From a delightfully powdery and lightly oily mouth rise notes of maple syrup, tobacco, and baking spices.
Finish: Long, with a floral, peppery bloom.
