A powerhouse Italian wine, the Salviano Turlo is the Umbrian answer to a Super Tuscan. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this full-bodied red shows complex, and intense ripe fruit aromas.
The fruit is very primary and bright for a 2016, featuring fresh blueberries, and there’s also an overlay of something more herbal, suggesting dried peppers and blackberry bush. Light to medium body, fine tannins and a straight-up finish.
Pair with hard cheeses, grilled or braised meats, risotto.
