Medalla Real Gran Reserva was created in 1983 in honor of the Marqués de Casa Real, Francisco GarcÃa Huidobro, who established Chileâ ™s first mint and is one of the ancestors of the family that founded Viña Santa Rita. To commemorate the bicentennial of this event, a special medallion was minted with his silhouette and the symbol of the Royal Spanish Crown. Our Medalla Real Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is from our certified sustainable estate vineyards in Maipo valley, one of the worldâ ™s fines wine regions. This beautiful wine has been aged for 14 months in French oak barrels and displays a deep ruby-red color. Its fragrant aroma evokes black fruits and cooking spices. On the palate the body is rich with ripe, smooth tannins.
Tasting Notes
The concentrated palate offers well-rounded ripe tannins that create the prominent backbone that leads the wine on to a long, lingering finish. It is a wine that shows the Alto Jahuel potential for the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.
