Santi Amarone della Valpolicella Proemio 2013 750ml

The style of the Valpolicella reds highlights generous aromas and taut palates rather than power, often with excellent results. The Amarone Proemio is penalized by a too-early release but shows considerable potential and simply requires further time in bottle.

Amarone Proemio shows mature fruit aromas of black cherry and blackberry jam backed by elegant tones of clove, pepper, cola and cedar wood. The wine represents a smooth, clean and traditional style that would pair with grilled steak or roast pork.

Intense red color; the nose stands out for its complexity, with evident hints of plum, cherry jam and tea leaf followed by notes of dried fruit, licorice and chocolate. On the palate it is full-bodied and round, with a perfect combination of sweet tannins, acidity and the return of the scents felt on the nose, which give a long and savory aftertaste.
