From the producer: Rudis is our intentionally oxidized wine, and it’s one of my favorite wines that we make. It is direct pressed chardonnay juice fermented in neutral french oak for 28 months. Once primary and secondary fermentation are complete, the wines are left untopped, in this case, for ~15 moths. No SO2 is added, as we are obviously wanting the oxidation characters to shine. The wine has so many layers, is super savory, and is a wine we’re really proud of.
From us: This wine rivals a lot of Jura Chardonnay of the same style at a much more reasonable price. The best domestic oxidative Chardonnay we have ever had.
