The most northerly cru in the Beaujolais, approaching the clay-heavy terroir of the Macon district, produces wines that are at once heavier or coarser than the southerly crus, but also plusher and rounder. Aromas and flavors are of red fruits and spiced black cherry.
Bursting with aromas of succulent red cherries and raspberries, the 2019 Saint-Amour Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with a deep and layered core, lively acids and powdery, entirely hidden tannins, concluding with a long and sapid finish.
