95 Points James Suckling It refers to selected vineyards composed of plots that reflect the terroir in its purest form, producing consistently superlative wines. Intensive study of Grand Cru sites to discover what makes them unique and convey that to the wine.
94 Points Vinous The 2020 Malbec Hobbs Estate is sourced from Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels, 48% new, this deep purple wine displays a ripe character with plum marmalade, menthol and balsamic hints against a cedar backdrop. Chocolate and mocha hints emerge with time in the glass. Dry, rich and velvety, the palate offers reactive tannins with depth and a fairly overwhelming mouthfeel. This is a long-lasting, calibrated Malbec crafted from a warm vintage.
